Welcome to my blog, friend. Consider it something of a diary.

I post about a lot of different things, though the threads that run through my blog most frequently are living with mental illness, photography & emotion. I tell stories here – sometimes long ones, sometimes just little snippets. I tell stories through words and through my photographs. I hope my stories come across as deeply human and resonate with you. I believe when we own up to the most broken and human parts of ourselves, we can be truly seen. I believe vulnerability is beautiful and a strength. I believe shame is toxic and the enemy. As one of my favorite writers says, “Perfection is shallow, unreal and fatally uninteresting.”

I’m an activist, both politically and for the mental health community. I also write for the International Bipolar Foundation and am all about busting the stigma of mental illness.

I have felt a lot of pressure to limit my blog to a single category (write only about my experiences with mental illness or post only my photography, for example) but that just doesn’t feel authentic to me. I don’t want to show only one facet of myself. I want to be human in this space – and humans are messy and complicated and hard to categorize.

If you want to learn a little bit more about me, you can go to my photography website and read this page.
